We are incredibly proud to announce Dolly Miles (Doralee Miles) as the recipient of the 2025 Janice Kemp Award for Excellence.
Dolly joined our team in May 2024, and in just 12 months she has made an extraordinary impact. During this time, she has been mentioned 21 times, by 7 different clients, across 21 separate compliment entries – a remarkable achievement that truly reflects the standard of care she provides.
One moment that perfectly captures Dolly’s dedication was her work with a client who had not left her home for many years due to anxiety. With patience, reassurance, and genuine compassion, Dolly gradually built trust and confidence, eventually supporting her to venture outside for social visits to places such as garden centres and cafés. When this milestone was reached, Dolly was overwhelmed with emotion, sharing tears of joy for her client’s achievement. Shortly afterwards, the client’s son contacted the office, also deeply emotional, to express his gratitude for the life-changing support Dolly had given his family.
Clients regularly speak about the positive impact Dolly has on their lives. One client shared how joyful and uplifting Dolly is during every visit, while another celebrated when hearing Dolly was scheduled, saying she always lifts her mood when she’s feeling low.
Dolly is an exceptional carer who consistently goes above and beyond. She builds strong, trusting relationships and always places dignity, wellbeing, and individual needs at the heart of her work. Her compassion, dedication, and high standards embody everything the Janice Kemp Award represents.
